Payment Details & Funding Strategies

DLC membership fees are based on the membership package selected by your school.

Full membership fees

Washington State Public School Membership: $6 per student
Washington State Private School/Program Membership: $8 per student

DLC membership fees will be calculated based on your school's October 2007 enrollment, plus any charges for additional resources. (Note: Elementary schools' membership fees are based on enrollment for Grades 1–5 or 1–6; fees are not charged for kindergarten students.)

Courses-Only membership fees

$100 per school (schools with less than 100 students pay $1/student)

Your school's total DLC membership fees will be calculated based on your school's October 2007 enrollment.

Invoices

The DLC will invoice schools when they join. Schools can pay anytime prior to September 30, 2008 (schools that join after September 1, 2008, will have until 30 days after the join date to pay).

Online course fees

The DLC will invoice your school for any online course fees and materials above and beyond your school's allocated Course Credit Funds. Those invoices will arrive in October 2008 for first semester and March 2009 for second semester, with a final reconciliation (if needed) in May.

Funding strategies for DLC membership and/or online courses

Schools have used a number of strategies to pay for DLC membership and courses, including the following:

• Promoting Academic Success (PAS) state funding to assist students in passing the WASL
• Learning Assistance Program (LAP) monies provided for high school remediation
• I-728 student achievement funds
• District or building general funds
• Grants, such as Migrant, GEAR UP, Title I, Special Education, Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT), and Career and Technical Education
• Pooling funds from existing budgets, including library, counseling, and technology budgets
• Capturing FTEs that might have been lost to dropouts or Running Start by keeping those students in school via DLC online courses

Important dates

• September 1: Join by this date to give students access to our full range of fall courses.
• November 16: Join by this date to prepare for spring courses.
