Course Credit Funds
Every public high school that joins the DLC at the full-membership level is eligible to receive a $1,000 credit that can be used to purchase online courses and course materials from the DLC course catalog. Course Credit Funds are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Course Credit Funds have been allocated for 08-09 -- schools will now be added to a waitlist to receive funds on a first-come, first-served basis if more become available.
For the 2008-2009 school year, schools can purchase courses at a savings of up to $75 per course. Course Credit Funds (CCFs) will help offset the costs of courses and materials, provide a great value to DLC members, and help promote equal access to online courses.
Ensuring Access across the State
CCFs are one way the DLC ensures that public high schools across the state have equal access to online courses, regardless of location, school size, or district resources.
Flexibility in Registration
Schools can use CCFs to pay for any of the courses (and materials) offered through the DLC. Choose from over 300 courses, priced between $120–$350 per course, per semester. (College level courses cost more. Fees for specific courses and materials are listed in the DLC registration system during each registration period; they can be accessed by your school's Registrar and Teacher/Mentors.) Your school can choose how to use your CCFs to best serve your students.
Instant Return on Investment
In addition to all the other benefits of DLC membership, $1,000 CCFs create substantial online course purchasing power. Some schools may even receive more in CCFs than they pay in DLC membership fees!
Eligibility
You are only eligible for Course Credit Funds if you are a Washington State public high school that joins at the full-membership level. See the Membership Types page for more details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the DLC send any unspent CCFs back to my school?
Unspent funds will not be returned to schools. Funds can be used for the entire school year (including summer term), but they cannot be carried over from year to year.
Can my school apply CCFs to the cost of other optional resources?
CCFs can only be used to pay for course fees and associated materials charges, such as textbooks.
What if the total costs for courses in my school are greater than our CCFs?
The DLC will invoice your school for any costs over the allocated CCFs.
If a student drops a course, will we be charged the full amount?
Charges for drops will depend on the timing of the drop. When possible, the DLC will pass along only a nominal drop fee.
Will course fees be included in the course catalog?
Yes, course and materials fees will be available to Registrars and Teacher/Mentors via the DLC registration system. Since DLC courses are discounted below the providers' standard rates, we do not share those costs with the general public.
